I signed up for the CIM marathon yesterday, and the hard work is about to begin. I haven’t run a competitive race since the summer of 2010. 2011 was the year of building back the mileage after not running for 6 months thanks to an achilles injury. Last year’s training was half hearted , missing runs here and there since the goal was to just finish while running drunk. This year, it’s time to get serious if I want to qualify for Boston.
Official training starts July, which means I have 4 months to build up the base to, and consistently run 20 miles/week. Still going with the McMillan training program since it had almost worked in the past (6 seconds is really close!), but the diet’s going to be much different this time around. Without any meat in the diet will mean I’ll be able to lose more weight, and lighter will hopefully translate into a faster race.
So here’s to CIM!
