Laguna Beach Brush Fire

Started hearing helicopters flying back and forth above our house.  Thought they were rescuing stranded hikers, but J started smelling fire and it dawned on us that it was a brush fire.  A check online confirmed our suspicions.

Helicopter seen from the second floor balcony.

Helicopter seen at the soccer field, going back and forth filling up water from the hydrant located in the park behind our house.

Normally clear coastline now hazy with smoke.

Whether we need to evacuate or not we’ll find out shortly, but will start packing things in case.

Yikes! I hope everything turns out ok-no one gets hurt or loses their house. Your life is just full of excitement. Never knew Laguna Beach was so exciting. I guess that’s why MTV made a reality show out of it.

LBFD did an amazing job at containing the fire. No loss in lives/property. They’re worth every penny. Hike my taxes!
I was just saying to J that in the 5 years we’ve been in AZ there had been hardly as many incidents as we’ve had in the last 7 months in LB.
