I am currently on hiatus from kdramas. So I’ve moved on to US reality shows. Started watching ‘Say Yes To The Dress‘, which shows brides-to-be on the hunt for that perfect wedding dress; and that got me dreaming about wedding dresses. I never got the chance to try on any bridal gowns; just married J in a $15 H&M white sun dress.
As I’m watching the show, I’m oohing and aahing over the fabulous gowns. The brides’ budgets range from expensive ($2000) to outrageous (unlimited…).
Me: How much would you be willing to spend on my wedding dress?
J: Zero, because you ain’t getting one.
The show also shows brides accompanied by various people (e.g., parents, best friends, and even fiance) to help them pick out the perfect gown.
Me: Would you want to go with me when I pick out a dress?
J: No, because you ain’t getting one.
Finally, I saw the perfect gown that I would love to wear. Meanwhile, J’s toiling away in the kitchen, preparing dinner and making tapioca dessert (I avoid the kitchen as much as possible, and only spend time in there when ABSOLUTELY necessary).
J: Honey, add some sugar to the tapioca.
Me: That’s it, I’m getting a dress for my next wedding.
J: Why would you have a ‘next’ wedding.
Me: If you keep asking me to add sugar to the tapioca, there will be a next wedding.
My fantasy dress (minus the rabbit ears…and the sleeves)…
