Next Place To Live

J & I may have found our place to retire – Santa Barbara.  J’s still leaning towards Cafayate, but I just can’t imagine living in a place that doesn’t have a Costco (Santa Barbara doesn’t have one, but the next town Goleta, which is 10 miles away, does).

Santa Barbara is a smallish coastal town, less busy than SoCal, and definitely has more character with all it’s Spanish-influenced architecture.

Even their courthouse is a national landmark

And the mosaic

I would have loved to have gotten married in this room as opposed to the rooms lit by fluorescent lighting in NY city hall.

Looking down from the clock tower

How can you not love this architecture

or the various wineries here in Santa Barbara?

SB has mountains, ocean, beautiful architecture, wineries, and Costco.  What more does one need in life?
