How often do you hear NYers say they’ve never been to the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building? Or Arizonans who have never been to the Grand Canyon? We often take things that are within our reach for granted and later regret not taking advantage of our proximity to landmarks, national parks, institutions, etc. J&I have been pretty good about exploring what’s around us, but since we’ve moved out to Irvine, we’ve tragically neglected one Irvine institution…In-N-Out.
When we were living in AZ, we’d make a few trips a few times a year to get our burger fix. When mom and dad came this year, we’ve eaten at INO no less than 5 times in 2 months.
However, now that we’re in CA, we see more INOs than McDonalds or BKs. It’s ubiquitous and, unfortunately, losing its allure. I’m sure the burger is just as fresh and tasty as the ones in AZ, but we’re now taking it for granted. However, I will now make it a point to eat there at least once or twice a year, because once we move to Argentina we sure won’t find any INOs.
