For my last interview in OC, I was given the opportunity to stay in a hotel and I picked the Fairmont Newport Beach, which is a hop, skip, and a jump away from the John Wayne Airport. The hotel is what you would expect from a 4-star hotel in CA: comfortable bed (though J and I both thought it was too soft), beautiful decor throughout the hotel, and personalized service. My favorite was when I called down to have my car brought around:
Receptionist: Good morning, what can I do for you Ms. Y?
She addressed me by my name without me having to speak a word! The next morning when J and I came back to the hotel from our run, the valet guys offered us bottles of water and towel. That’s what I call good service.
Mom and dad stayed in a double the week before. They also complained the bed was too soft.
J & I stayed in a king, which is smaller (room wise) than the double.
Internet costs $13.95 for 24 hours. I really don't understand why we are stilled charged for internet access in this day and age. If healthcare is considered a right, then so should free internet access.
Reason No. 286 'Why NOT to have kids'.
OK, I don't know what's more outrageous, $13.95 for internet or $7.00 for water. Though you can get a free bottle of water down at the valet. Go figure...

Fitness center was a bit dark. J & I opted to run outdoors as 5 miles on the treadmill is just pure torture.
