Next Up: Exit Strategy

Ever since seeing a warning sign at the extended stay near Irvine Spectrum, J and I have  been meticulously trying to find a place to live in OC that’s convenient for both our commutes, and not contaminated by trichloroethylene (TCE).  From what we’ve been able to gather on the internet, the TCE plume appears to be located under a particular area in Irvine between I5 and I405.  So during our home search we’ve specifically ask the agent to avoid that area, which covers a huge swath of Irvine where the plume seems to be concentrated in.  We thought any location east of I5 and west of I405 would be safe, until we saw this…

This is the warning sign (tucked away above eye level) near the entrance at Fleming's in Newport Beach, which is way west of I405. Does this mean TCE is everywhere in OC?
