Post-Race Recovery

It’s good to get back into the routine.  Took a day off from running after the race, but ran the usual 6 this morning.  The legs felt a little heavier, but nothing like how it was after the Tucson race.  I had to take a week and a half off after that race due to residual soreness in the right hip flexor and knee that stemmed from altered running mechanics (after a fall in Buenos Aires I developed patellar tendonitis, which never healed in time for the race).  This time around I only needed 2 days to recover.  While running this morning, I realized that had it not been for the 80 degree weather in San Diego on race day, I probably would have been able to qualify.  So let’s just hope that the weather cooperates in December (that means no extreme temperatures AND no head winds), because this I-almost-qualified-for-Boston game is starting to get a little old…
