Allergies

It’s allergy season here in the desert.  All of us have luckily been spared, except for Truffalo.  His allergies were so bad last year that he scratched himself to the point where his ear tips were bleeding all over the place.

We had to bandage him up and put a cone on to prevent him from turning the house into a bloody crime scene…
He was not a happy camper with his crown on…
Sitting on his own tail, not knowing what to do with himself.

We had thought he was allergic to his food, so we upgraded him to eating the expensive hypoallergenic Hill’s Science Diet.  However, he’s been on it for a year now and it seems like his allergies are back (his lips were bloody the other day).  Which means, it’s not the food.  So this morning I gave him one of my Claritins coated in peanut butter, and he’s stopped scratching.  He’s cured and he’ll be going back to Costco’s Kirkland brand dog food!

  1. I'm going to start a web site of nothing but pictures of animals wearing radar dishes. They look so humiliated in them, which humanizes them a lot, and I can't help but laugh. I'm a terrible person.

The cones are nothing compared to doggie boots. You'd get a good laugh when you see how the dogs try to walk soon after having had their boots put on. It's hilarious! I'm certifiably evil…

The cone totally changed his whole persona. He's normally rambunctiously running around, but as soon as we put the collar on he just stopped moving. It was as if the cone weighed a ton.
